High above the quiet world, where the sky turns deep blue and the moon smiles softly, lived a little star.
The little star loved to shine.
Every night, it twinkled as brightly as it could.
It sparkled and shimmered and tried very hard to be the brightest star in the sky.
But tonight, the little star felt tired.
Its light flickered softly, and it sighed a tiny star-sigh.
“I don’t feel like shining so much tonight,” the little star whispered.
The Moon noticed.
The Moon always noticed things like that.
“Come sit with me,” the Moon said kindly.
“You don’t have to shine all the time.”
The little star floated closer and rested near the Moon’s gentle glow.
Below them, the world was getting ready for sleep.
Houses were quiet.
Lights were turning off.
Children were snuggling into their beds.
The little star watched as clouds drifted slowly by, moving just like sleepy breaths.
In…
Out…
The Moon spoke softly.
“Did you know,” the Moon said, “that even stars need rest?”
The little star blinked.
“Really?”
“Yes,” the Moon smiled.
“When you rest, your light grows warm and strong again.”
The little star felt its glow soften.
Not disappear — just become gentle.
It felt nice.
A breeze passed through the sky, carrying the quiet sounds of night.
Owls whispered hello.
Crickets sang sleepy songs.
The little star stretched — just a tiny stretch — and felt lighter.
In…
Out…
“You don’t need to shine brightly tonight,” the Moon said.
“You can shine kindly.”
The little star liked that idea.
It closed its star-eyes and let its light glow softly, like a night lamp in the sky.
Below, a child turned over in bed and smiled in their sleep.
The little star felt happy.
“I think I like resting,” the little star whispered.
The Moon nodded.
“Rest is how dreams begin.”
The little star curled up near the Moon, glowing just enough to say goodnight.
And as the night grew quiet and calm, the little star drifted into peaceful sleep — ready to shine again tomorrow.
🌙✨
Good night.
Sleep well.
The stars are watching kindly.
